Intro to Spanish - Spanish Ad Assignment
Spanish Ad Project
Students should use words from their current vocabulary lists to create an ad for a store in Spanish. The ad should contain at least 10 items for sale, a picture of each item, the item labeled in Spanish,
and the price in Mexican pesos. Use an exchange rate of 12 pesos equals one U.S. dollar.
To receive all 20 points for the project, words should be spelled correctly, the prices should make sense, and the overall project should be neat and visually pleasing.
The following are some extra words students can use to enhance their ad in Spanish:
“Super Ganga” = Super Sale/ “Tienda” = Store/”por” = for…..”2 libros por 90 pesos”
“ Muy Barato” = Very Cheap/”Descuento = Discount/”Solo Sábado” = Only Saturday
***If special characters are needed such as accents over letters, you can use the following codes or the "Insert" tab and then choose an appropriate symbol:
CPU Symbols for Spanish
Hold “alt” key, type the number, and release.
é = 130
É =144
á = 160 *NOTE: For the codes to work, the
í = 161 “number lock” feature on the right
ó = 162 side of the keyboard must be ON.
ú = 163
ñ = 164
¿ = 168
¡ = 173
º = 167
Due Dates: Period 1A: Thursday 4/29
Periods 2A & 3A: Monday 5/3
Periods 4B & 5B: Friday 4/30
It is very important that your ad is ready on time. This project will be used to give an oral presentation in Spanish. Without the ad, you will not be able to complete the second activity.
ALSO....don't forget to study your numbers. You should be able to count by ten's in Spanish and should be prepared for an oral exam.

Intro to Spanish - Test
The next vocabulary test for "Introduction to Spanish" classes will focus on vocabulary describing items in the classroom. The vocabulary test will be given by dictation so students should be able to hear and recognize the words when given in Spanish, write them down using correct spelling, and translate the words to English.
The vocabulary flashcards are an excellent way to study. Be sure to say the words aloud as you practice.

Check it Out!
Mr. Beckstrom has just added a new application to the Landon website using "Yahoo Babel Fish" that allows you to see what our website would look like in a variety of languages. The translation for Spanish is a little odd in places, but basically works. Check out what our website would look like in Chinese! Look for the icon on the left of the opening webpage.
