Reminder per t-shirt orders for $10

Also, ask your parents if you would be available to dance at Landon Night at the St. John's Town Center Barnes and Noble on Thursday, November 10th. We are scheduled to perform from 6:15 to 6:45. Your parents would have to provide the transportation. This is a fund raiser for our school, so it would be a really great way to show your support and show off some of your new dance moves! Hope you can be there! We will practice on Wednesday, November 9th at our next Salsa Club meeting.

Just a reminder to those who forgot their permits or who were in Grade Recovery to bring your signed permits to see the movie "Selena."

Salsa Club - T-shirts

Don't forget to bring in your $10 to buy this year's Salsa Club T-shirt. Be sure to put your money in an envelope. Write your name and your t-shirt size (Sm., Med, Large)on the outside of the envelope. Bring the envelope to Mrs. Dennis in Rm. 341 before school any day next week.

8th Grade Spanish - el 27 de octubre

HW: Review for Skills Test #16 (pronouns). See p.96 in textbook for help.

Also, continue working on storybooks. You should have a good rough draft of your story by now and should start working on putting the story together in a power point or paper storybook format.

Final Copy Due: Monday, November 14th

6th Grade Spanish - Upcoming Test

Test on vocabulary for "La Clase" will be given on Thursday, November 3rd. Students should be able to look at the Spanish word and know what it means in English. A great way to study is to use the www.conjuguemos.com website. Remember, you can use "landonlion" as your "User" and "Password." Then choose "La Clase" vocabulary.

8th Grade Students and Parents

Monday is the last day of the quarter and the last day for students to retake skills tests and the last day to complete conjuguemos activities. Please make a print out of your personal gradebook for the conjuguemos activities and submit it to me on Monday in order to change your gradde.

7th Grade Students and Parents:

I was very disappointed to find how many students have not completed the required online activities. The assignment was given on September 30th and a reminder was posted again on October 16th. Students were also reminded each class meeting. Grades have been posted on On Course.

At this point, the only way the grade can be changed is if the student completes the activities and gives me a printout of his personal "conjuguemos" gradebook.

Students should make a minimum of 20 attempts in each group and score at least 90%.

Reminder: Test - Monday, October 24th

The test will cover telling time, giving the date, days of the week, weather, and seasons. A good way to practice vocabulary is to complete the activities on the www.conjuguemos.com website.

On Monday, I will also collect Tarea worksheets (pages 1 to 12) and WAVA worksheets (pages 1 to 6). All of these should be completed and ready to turn in at the beginning of class.

Retakes for Skill Tests #1 - 15 must be completed by Monday, October 24th. I will be available before and after school on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. Because these are retakes, they will NOT be given during class time.

HW: Prepare for Skills Test #15 on ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)

Complete 10 conjuguemos activities with a score of 90% or above for 100 points.
Complete 10 conjuguemos activities with a score of 80% or above for 90 points.
Complete 10 conjuguemos activities with at least 20 attempts for each activity for a score of 80 points. If you complete less than 10 activties, your score will be weighted accordingly.

8th Grade - Missing Grades????

You may have noticed that all of your grades have been erased. Unfortunately for all of us, some coding changes on On Course erased grades for all of the gifted 8th grade students. I do have a hard copy of the grades and will put them back in when I have a chance. In the meantime, please be patient.

Next Salsa Club Meeting - October 12th

Calling all Salsa dancers (Salseros)!!!
Plan on meeting in Rm. 341 at 2:10 for our next meeting. Bring a healthy drink and snack, good dancing shoes, and your "caliente" dance moves!!!

HW: Review how to tell time and words to describe items in the classroom. www.conjuguemos.com or www.phschool.com are great ways to practice and review.
If you did not complete Tarea P-6 in class, you should do it as homework.

You should prepare a final copy of your "revision" of "Los Episodios." Next week, you will present your skits.
Make up skills tests after school on Monday (10/10). Don't wait til the last minute!!!

6th Grade Spanish - Colors Project - Due Wed.

HW: 6th Graders learned how to say colors in Spanish today. Their project is to create or find a picture to color in using all the colors learned in class. Then they should label each color in Spanish. Be sure to use correct spelling. Project should be ready to turn in at the beginning of class on Wednesday, October 5th.
