7th Grade Spanish - Celebrity Project

HW Reminder: Return signed movie permission slip by Wednesday

Due Friday - March 18th

Select and research someone who is a Spanish-speaking celebrity. They can be from any Spanish-speaking country or be someone who lives in the U.S. but speaks Spanish and has Spanish heritage. The person should be someone recognizable in their field: actor, singer, dancer, athlete, artist, movie director, scientist, CEO, politician, fashion designer...whatever might be an area of interest for you.

Create a one-page data sheet that includes
A) a picture of the person on the top-left side of 8 1/2 x 11 paper
B) basic facts to the right of the picture (name, date and place of birth, area of expertise, award, if any)
C) 4 points that you found interessting about the person

6th Grade Spanish - Test on Thursday, March 17th

Students in 6th Grade Spanish should be prepared to take a test on Thursday,
March 17th on numbers 0-20, math symbols, and all colors vocabulary. They should be able to do math problems using the numbers and symbols and should be able to spell all numbers and colors correctly.

8th Grade Spanish - el 11 de marzo

Students should prepare for a test on Capítulo 5B on Tuesday. All Tarea (5B-1 to 5B-9) and WAVA worksheets (Act. 1 to Act. 9) should be completed, in order, and ready to turn in. Please review vocabulary lists and grammar notes from the chapter. You should be able to describe people and how they feel, know how to conjugate and when to use the verbs "ser," "estar," "tener," "pedir," "traer," and "venir," know restaurant vocabulary and be able to interact with a waiter, and be able to describe who is coming to a party and what they plan to bring....all in Español, por supuesto!

7th Grade Spanish - el 8 de marzo

HW: WAVA - Act. 10 (p. 45)

Start reviewing now for your test on Capítulo 2A/2B. Test is on Monday,
March 14th.

You will be responsible for knowing the vocabulary from p. 96 and p. 120 as well as being able to apply all grammar notes (see green boxes in each chapter). Especially concentrate on knowing how to form regular -ar verbs and the verb "estar."

The test will have 35 multiple choice style quesions and a listening section where you must record the name of an item, the class, and the location of the item in that class.

"Felicitaciones Grandes" go to our Spanish students who participated in the World Language Festival on Saturday, March 5th at Orange Park High School. Our Brain Brawl Trivia Team won 2nd place and all 7 of our 7th grade students earned a "Superior" rating in impromptu speaking. You can't beat that!!!!

Thanks again to all of the parents who brought students to the festival. We couldn't participate without your support!
