7th Grade Spansih - el 30 de septiembre

HW: Time to catch up! Complete the conjuguemos.com activites on parts of body, numbers 0-20, numbers 0-100, and colors. Review how to tell time using the www.phschool.com website (p. 7 under "En la Escuela" and names of items in the classroom under "En la Clase."

8th Grade Spanish - el 30 de septiembre

HW: Complete 10 conjuguemos activities. Prepare for Skills Test #11 on how to describe activities you like and don't like to do. If you do the Chapter 1A review in conjuguemos, you will basically be reviewing the material on the test.

8th Grade Spanish (6B) - el 29 de septiembre

Reminder to printe your Wordles if you have not yet given me one.

Make sure you complete the conjuguemos.com activities by Monday for full credit. You must do 10 different activities with a minimum of 20 questions for each activity and a score of 90%. Be sure to send me the scores after completing each activity.

6th Grade Spanish - Upcoming Test

6th Graders will have a Spanish test on Monday, October 3rd, on numbers 0 to 20. You need to know how to say and spell each number, how to do math problems in Spanish, and be able to write down telephone numbers correctly when given in Spanish. Use the websites to help you practice listening and writing the words. Remember the password and user name for 6th Grade is "landonlions" for the www.conjuguemos.com website.

8th Grade Spanish (1A) - el 26 de septiembre

HW: Complete Wordle project / Work on conjuguemos.com practice exercises. Choose a minimum of 10 activities. When you achieve a score of 90% on at least 20 questions, you should send me the results for those 10 activities. Target Date for Completion is Friday, September 30th for Period 1A.

7th Grade Spanish - el 16 de septiembre

HW: Complete the monster project.

Fold an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper in half. On the top half, write your name, date, and class period. Then draw a picture of a monster using one to ten of any of the body parts on your vocabulary list. Give the monster a name.

On the bottom half of the paper, write 10 sentences in Spanish describing the monster. Your first sentence should be the name of the monster:
"Mi monstruo se llama _________."
The other nine sentences should follow this format:
"Mi monstruo tiene (number in Spanish)(body part in Spanish).

8th Grade Spanish - el 16 de septiembre

HW: Make a "Sure Fire Way to Study Spanish" list of weather expressions and seasons. Study for Skills Test #10. You'll also need to know how to say the temperature in degrees.

Salsa Club

Calling all Salseros!

Our first meeting of Salsa Club will be on Wednesday, September 28th, from 2:10-3:30 p.m. Please stop by the Spanish classroom or the Main Office for a permission slip.

6th Grade Spanish - September 15th

HW: Students should prepare and practice their skits using social expressions. Remember that a final copy of the skit and the rubric should be handed in on Monday. You should memorize your skit and bring your costume or props. Check the rubric to make sure that you have included the essential elements in your skit.

HW: Finish making flashcards for the parts of the body (El Cuerpo). You should have the spanish word including "el" or "la" on one side and a picture on the other depicting the appropriate part of the body. Use the flashcards to study your words.

8th Grade Spanish - el 14/15 de septiembre

HW: Make a "sure fire way to study vocab" list for "El Cuerpo" and be prepared to take Skills Test #9.

Reminder: Tutoring is always available on Mondays after school. Other make-up tests, etc. can be scheduled by appointment with me before or after school on other days.

HW: Social Expressions Crossword Puzzle

Test on Social Expressions - Thursday (September 12th)

You should know what each expression means in English. Plus, you should be able to answer the following questions in complete sentences in Spanish: What's your name?/Where are you from?/How are you?

If you forget to bring your notes home, you can always find the vocabulary in the files.

7th Grade Spanish - September 8th

HW: Fill in vocabulary lists for "La Clase" from "el bolĂ­grafo" to "la sala de clases." Also fill in "El Tiempo" and "Las Estaciones." You can find the answers on the website www.phschool.com. Be sure to show your parents how to access the textbook online and the resources you have there. You should be an expert after we spent the class period in the computer lab today!

HW: Complete Tarea pages P-1 and P-2

Review the alphabet, countries and capitals of South America, and all social expressions for your test on Monday, September 12th.

8th Grade Spanish - el 8/9 de septiembre

HW: Be prepared to hand in your "Sure Fire Way to Study Vocabulary" list for numbers 0-20 and 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100.
Also, create a list of vocabulary for telling time. Be sure to add to your list the ways to say "a.m." (de la mañana) and "p.m" (de la tarde/de la noche).

HW: Finish the Spanish cartoon. Make sure you have 4 sections with 2 characters greeting each other in the first section, asking and answering questions in the 2nd and 3rd sections, and saying goodbyes in the 4th section. Use ONLY the Spanish given in your social expressions vocabulary list (#1-22). You may fill in blanks of names or places with English or Spanish.
