7th Grade Spanish - September 27th

HW:  Study for test on numbers 0 to 100.  You must be able to say the numbers correctly from 0 to 20 and counting by ten's from 30 to 100.  Use the website for numbers in the Blog List on the left for help and practice.

8th Grade Spanish - el 27 de septiembre

HW:  5 sentences in Spanish using the pattern "______ is a good day for ________." and 5 sentences using the pattern "_______ is NOT a good day for ___________."

Example:  El lunes es un día bueno para caminar con un amigo a la escuela.

7th Grade Spanish - September 25th

HW:  Create a person out of numbers.  For example, use a 0 for the head or lots of 3's for hair.  Then label the numbers you use in Spanish.

Next Oral Test:  A-Day - October 1st     B-Day October 2nd
You will be asked to say the numbers 0-20 and then count by ten's in Spanish

8th Grade Spanish - el 25 de septiembre

HW:  Review colors for next skills test.  A great way to practice is to play the hangman game on the www.conjuguemos.com website (user and password = landonlions)

Next Test:  A-Day - Oct. 3rd      B-Day - Oct. 4th
This test will cover all material in Para Empezar and the first 11 skills tests.

7th Grade Spanish - September 23rd

HW:  Fold a paper in half like a taco.  On the top half, write 10 math problems using Spanish numbers from 0 to 100 and the math expressions for plus, minus, times, and divided by.
 Example:  dos por treinta son _____________.    On the bottom half, make an answer key and write the answers in Spanish.

*Be careful to write math problems with answers between 0 and 100 so you know how to write them.  

8th Grade Spanish - el 23 de septiembre

HW:  Review for next skills test on weather expressions, seasons, how to ask what the weather is like, how to ask what the temperature is and give a response in degrees.

7th Grade Spanish - September 19th

HW:  Create a worksheet to practice numbers 0 to 20 in Spanish like the game "Wheel of Fortune."  Fold a paper in half lengthwise like a "burrito."  Draw a line down the middle.  Number the paper from 1 to 15.  Select one of the Spanish words for a number from 0 to 20 and write the word, leaving out one or two letters and putting a blank there instead.  On the right side of the paper across from the word with the missing letters, write out the answer and the corresponding number.  Example:  1.  v_in_e          veinte = 20

8th Grade Spanish - el 19 de septiembre

HW:  Review for Parts of the Body test and complete the El Cuerpo project (if you did not already turn it in).  (Create a body with all of your parts of the body vocabulary using the Spanish words to create the body part.  For example, the eyes would be the word "boca" would be written several times to create a picture of a mouth.)

8th Grade Spanish - el 17 de septiembre

HW:  Prepare for your skills test on the calendar by choosing any 20 calendar words to create a "sure fire" study list.  Your study list should include a minimum of 4 columns.  Words may include days, months, or words such as "today," "tomorrow," "day," "date," "first," "month," "year."  For the test, you should be able to give any date and ask questions such as "What is the date?" and "What day is today?"

7th Grade Spanish - September 13th

HW:  Create a picture of a monster with 1 to 10 of the body parts on your vocab list.  DO NOT label each part of the body but you should use the picture to be able to point to and say the part of the body.  Give your monster a name.

8th Grade Spanish - el 13 de septiembre

HW:  Use  the story vocabulary to write 10 sentences in Spanish using names of 10 different people in class.  Each sentence should use 3 actions in a sequence.  Add details to make the sentence more interesting.  Example:  Sra. Dennis se levanta, camina a la papelera, y tira el examen en la papelera.

Here is a list of small words often needed to connect information in a sentence:

en = on, in        de = of, from     a = to, at     con = with     porque = because

7th Grade Spanish - September 11th

HW:  Create an 8 panel cartoon in Spanish using the different social expressions.  The cartoon should have 2 main characters talking to each other.

8th Grade Spanish - el 11 de septiembre

HW:  Review for test:  A-Day - Friday, 9/13   B-Day - Monday, 9/16

Students should be able to name the capitals for all Spanish-speaking countries and know in what area they are located (El Caribe, Europa, etc.).  They should also know basic questions including "What is....the date?/Where is he/she from?/How are you feeling?/Who is he/she?/Where is .... located?"

Next Test:

Students should be able to write names of capitals and countries in South America when I spell them using the Spanish alphabet.  They should also know the capital for each country and its general location and all of the social expressions on p.1 of their vocabulary handouts.
